Summary:
The Automation Switchboard Engineer is responsible for creating and managing databases of purchased (COTS) and customer-modified (MOTS) parts within the marine domain. Acting as the single point of contact (SPOC) between engineering, procurement, quality, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, the role ensures seamless coordination for the purchase, installation, and release of components. This involves leveraging ERP systems such as SAP, PLM tools like Windchill, and design software including Zuken E3 to maintain accurate part records and develop wiring diagrams for system integration to enable supply chain effective and seamless.
Required Skills:
Proficient in ERP systems, preferably SAP and PTC Windchill PLM. Knowledge of Commercial Off-the Shelf (COTS) & Modified Off-The Shelf (MOTS) components is must. Strong knowledge of SAP MM/Engineering Material Master ). Knowledge of Electrical, Electronic and Mechatronics components used in Power or Naval industry, experience in using Zuken E3.
Role Requirements:
- SAP Material Master management that shall include classification, Bill of Material (BOM), procurement type & Marine specific attributes especially for COTS & MOTS parts
- Specification, Development, selection and qualification of electrical components like Sensors, Actuators, Alternators, starters, etc.

Participation
in development projects for the integration of electrical components on combustion
engines (diesel, gas, hydrogen) - Support Engineering change requests (CR) and change notice (CN) as a part of change management
- Validate engineering attributes, Marine certifications and technical details with engineers and suppliers for respective Electrical & Mechanical bought out components
- Take care of COTS obsolescence management
- Maintain & update SAP library for Marine components, systems and assemblies
- Upload, release, and maintain Engineering drawings, BOMs, certificates and technical documentation for Marine systems in PLM
- Connect with COTS Obsolescence stakeholders to act on obsoleted components
- Coordinate configuration changes with Engineering, production and planning
- Knowledge of Supply chain management would be plus for this role
- Excellent coordination with global suppliers, engineering, quality and other cross functional teams
- Effective working individually and within global team environments
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under timelines
- Ability to read and interpret general procedures and speak fluent English
